Geothermal Energy-We Need It!
Do we need this resource? Well, yes, because the majority of resources the U.S. depends on is a shocking 91% nonrenewable resources. If you were to be alive when suddenly, there were no more nonrenewable resources, and there were also no other natural resources to supply your and other Americans' needs, then what's going to happen next.....
This is why we need other resources so people's needs can be fulfilled. But, there is still another major problem: global warming. Nonrenewable resources are only making this huge problem worse. The solution to this is renewable resources. These are clean resources that do not damage the environment as much, and their carbon footprint is minimal. One of these resources is geothermal energy. Using this resource helps the environment in a big way- the C02 emissions it generates does not harm the environment in a major way because it generates far less emissions than nonrenewable plants. If you consider using a closed loop geothermal system, then there will be no carbon dioxide emissions, therefore it is better for the Earth. Plus, humans can predict the power output of a geothermal power plant very accurately, unlike the energy sources solar and wind, because weather plays a big factor in power production for these sources, so humans cannot immediately predict these source's power outputs.
Geothermal energy also promotes national security by reducing the U.S.'s dependence on foreign fuel markets. Geothermal energy is what I call a "homegrown"(When I say "homegrown", the "home" is the U.S. because geothermal energy was being "grown" there.) energy source because it is right now being used in the U.S. without needing any transportation from one country to another, unlike fossil fuels, which are transported to the U.S. from another country. So, as well as being renewable, geothermal also "teaches" Americans to rely more on themselves.(SECURITY, people!)
Finally, here's one more reason why YOU should support Geothermal. Geothermal energy can sustain its own rate that it is "consumed", or used up(consumption rate) by humans. Because of this, scientists estimate that the fluid in the geothermal reservoirs will last for billions of years. This is PLENTY of time for us to keep using more geothermal and make this energy source one of the best renewable sources in the world, so eventually there will be no nonrenewable, shrinking global warming, ( I bet you're thinking: "What about cars, petroleum, and global warming?" That's a different story. Look it up!!)only renewable, especially geothermal!!!!!
GO RENEWABLE!
KICK OUT NONRENEWABLE AND GO GEOTHERMAL!!!!
